John Arnold Commercials

Meet the team

John Arnold M.I.R.T.E.

Managing Director

Known as a maverick within the industry, John is dedicated to his workforce and the MAN brand. John is passionate about the MAN product range and is proactive in his approach to delivering excellence in all areas of the business. He is extremely proud of the high level of service he offers and expects those around him to deliver the same work ethic and commitment that he demonstrates. John can still be found in his overalls inspecting vehicles for MOT when not behind his desk taking an active role in daily business.

Hannah Arnold

Hannah has worked for the company since 2005. She began in ‘service reception’ and over the years has gained a wide knowledge of all aspects of running a professional dealership. Hannah is keen to take up any challenge from gaining her HGV licence to allocating and overseeing a full shift in a workshop 15 technicians strong. Hannah makes herself available for company business 24/7 and is completely dedicated to growing and improving the business.

Gary Inwood

Warranty/Workshop Manager

Gary has worked for the company since 2003 when John Arnold Commercials acquired the service division of K. Watson Ltd., where he had been employed since leaving school. Gary is highly skilled in all aspects of HGV mechanics and electrics, and maintains a supreme knowledge of ERF/MAN engineering. For most of his career Gary has worked as Workshop Manager and in the last few years, as the complexity of vehicles has increased, has also taken responsibility for warranty claims and administration.

Toni Hill

Accounts Manager

Toni has managed the accounts team since being transferred from K. Watson Ltd where she began work as accounts administrator in 2001. With a background in childcare, Toni took up accounting as a career progression and has flourished in the role. Her confidence and self-assurance have been bolstered by working in this demanding industry where accounting is always a challenge. Toni takes responsibility for all aspects of company accounts and HR issues.

Stacey Arnold

Accounts Assistant

Stacey had intended to pursue a career in fashion having gained ‘A’ levels in Fashion and Design and Geography. She was, however, persuaded to join the finance department of the family business in 2012. Stacey plays an active and enthusiastic role in all aspects of accounting and is keen to develop the skills required to study for a formal qualification as she gains further experience.

Sandra McCartney

ATF Manager (Quality Representative)

Sandra has been with John Arnold Commercials Ltd since 2007 having been transferred on acquisition of Imperial Commercials Luton where she worked from 1998. Having started work there part time she established a role mainly in HR and Health and Safety administration. Her full time position at John Arnold Commercials has evolved over time from working in Service Reception to overseeing the ATF development which she now manages. Sandra also takes responsibility for Health and Safety and the Quality Management system.

Aaron Dawe

Parts Manager

Aaron left school at the age of 16 and came straight to John Arnold Commercials serving a 3 year apprenticeship with Bedford Training Group. Having qualified as a vehicle technician Aaron applied his skills in the workshop for five years before transferring to the Parts department. With his extensive vehicle knowledge Aaron took little time to master the parts systems and has managed the department for the last five years.

Alan James

Assistant Parts Manager

Alan entered the motor trade straight from school training as an auto electrician. He has experience as service advisor but has mainly focussed on developing a wealth of knowledge of the ‘parts’ trade working for two major franchises. Alan has amassed 14 years’ experience working within the MAN network. He has been with John Arnold Commercials for a short time but has proved himself an invaluable asset already.

Sam Magee

Service Receptionist

Sam began his career with John Arnold Commercials in November 2012 having left college in the same year with a BTech in Mechanical Engineering. Originally employed as a driver, Sam’s responsibilities ranged from delivering parts to collecting gearboxes for workshop repair from as far afield as Plymouth and Newcastle. When the position of Service Receptionist became available Sam took up the opportunity and is thriving on the challenges set for him.

Chloe Damon

Service Administrator

Chloe left school after completing her GCSE courses to attend Bedford College where she gained a Diploma in Business Administration. She took up a post in retail sales before volunteering at John Arnold Commercials at both Haverhill and Bedford to gain business experience. Having shown enthusiasm, initiative and maturity, Chloe was offered the full time position of Service Administrator in 2012, a job which she has approached extremely positively considering its demands.

Steve Woodward

Contracts Administrator

Steve began working with John Arnold Commercials as a trainee technician in 2012. His 6 months in the workshop ended when the position of contracts administrator became available, a role which he has found challenging but rewarding. His earlier introduction to the practical side of the business has helped with his understanding of contract maintenance and warranty issues and has proved to be a useful aid in his appreciation of detailed administration.
